Hi there!

I'm Samantha, owner and clinician behind Ceremonial Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) located in San Antonio dedicated to serving teens and adults in their healing journey towards a more fulfilling and empowering life.

About Samantha Sherrill, MS, LPC

I am proudly born and raised in San Antonio, and I absolutely love that I get to do this kind of work in a community so dear to my heart. My favorite part of being a counselor has to be the big smiles or tears of joy when a client has made a breakthrough. My background started in getting my B.S. in Psychology at Texas A&M University in College Station. I immediately knew that I wanted to pursue counseling, so I continued my education with an M.S. degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UTSA. Since then, I have experience working in two different non-profits for community mental health and grief groups as well as 4 years at a group private practice.

I have worked with all populations, but have a passion in providing therapy for women who are navigating all of the challenges that come with entering motherhood. I have training through Postpartum Support International (PSI) and am in the process of becoming certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). Other treatment areas include working with high-achieving adults struggling with the anxiety that comes with high expectations or perfectionism in addition to supporting individuals navigating loss or grief.

In my free time, I love to travel, spend time outdoors, listen to live music, and try out new restaurants in town. My husband and I recently welcomed a baby boy into our family and are owners to 2 rescue dogs named Luca & Grinch. My favorite band is Florence + The Machine, which is where the inspiration behind my business name originated from. Thank you for stopping by, and I look forward to getting to know you!

During the first session, we will discuss your concerns and identify personalized therapeutic goals to work on throughout therapy.

2

After your first session, we will meet either weekly or every two weeks to work towards your goals. Sessions will include customized therapy which may include learning coping skills, gaining insight or understanding, processing through feelings, and occasional homework.

3

Discharge

Once you and your counselor agree that it is time to part ways, we will discuss discharging from therapy. We will come up with a plan on how to maintain your goals as well as provide additional referrals if needed. Then you can celebrate all of your hard work!
